Stomatology is a medical specialty with medical-surgical differentiation, which diagnoses, treats and monitors tongue, lips, throat and mouth's lesions.

It also observes oral manifestations of medication's adverse effects, salivary changes, pain in the mouth's area, infections caused by viruses such as Herpes or HPV, fungal infections such as candidiasis and systemic diseases's oral manifestations.
