Laboratory tests
Laboratory tests are exams and analyses carried out in a laboratory and are used to diagnose diseases.
All health units in the CUF network have a Clinical Laboratory with technical and scientific equipment and specialised professionals to meet your needs.
Here you can have a wide range of routine and specialised tests with results meeting the most stringent quality criteria.
Centro de Medicina Laboratorial Germano de Sousa, whose values are innovation, quality and precision, is responsible for all laboratories and hospitals in the CUF network.
Useful Information
Samples for testing are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and an appointment is only necessary for certain tests.
For more information, please contact the CUF unit where you want to have your tests done. Not all clinical tests require fasting, so you may be able to have them done straight after your doctor’s appointment.
After providing your specimens, you are given a date for the results. This varies depending on the type of tests.
Results will be available for collection at the hospital or clinic where the examination was carried out for one year after it was conducted.
